What information is needed when the debris is already on site?

A collection brief separating material identification, access and final sweep-up.

Describe the load before asking for collection

Give an itemised description of the debris and photographs showing where it is stored. Drywall, timber, tile, concrete and packaged waste can require different handling and receiving arrangements. State what is known about the source and flag unidentified or suspect materials instead of mixing them into a general rubble description.

Do not move questionable material just to make a photograph look tidier. Ask the responsible project party to resolve assessment and handling first. A collection request does not authorise disturbance of material whose condition is uncertain.

Show the complete route out

Include the starting location, stairs, doors, corners and proposed loading point. Explain whether other trades or occupants use that route and whether building access must be booked. A close-up photograph of a pile does not show the carrying work needed to remove it.

Separate loose debris from remaining fixtures or demolition. If cabinets are still fixed to the wall, say so. Taking something apart can add a removal task that is not included in a haul-away allowance.

Agree what is left behind

Identify items excluded from collection and who is responsible for them. Confirm the sweep-up boundary and any retained protection. For mixed loads, receiving-facility acceptance should be checked for the actual material and hauler; household drop-off information is not blanket permission for a contractor load.

CoreCut’s junk and debris removal service accepts enquiries after other contractors’ work. Send the material list and access photographs so the collection can be defined without assuming that every item in the room is waste.

Copy this planning record

Use one entry per item or work area. Add the drawing or photograph reference, record unknowns explicitly and name the person who will resolve them. Keep the completed record with the agreed scope; the blank fields below are a discussion aid.

Bring the scope to a site review

Request an estimate with the location, the proposed removals and what must stay. Mention the unresolved items in this record so they can be discussed before the scope is agreed.
