Scope and fit

Interior Demolition in Mississauga

Interior demolition is the removal of finishes inside a home, from one bathroom to a full floor stripped to the studs and joists. We do it for homeowners and renovation contractors in Mississauga, Peel Region and the western GTA.

What's included

  • Agreed finishes, fixtures and non-structural elements
  • Protection of retained rooms and access routes
  • Debris removal and broom-clean handover

The written scope confirms the exact limits for your property.

Scope boundaries

Structural changes, utility work, hazardous-material abatement and rebuilding are not assumed in an interior strip-out. Retained fixtures and finishes must be marked before work.

Before we plan the work

Tell us which rooms remain occupied, which fixtures stay and what materials are being disturbed. Share renovation drawings and any material assessment already available.

Kitchens, bathrooms and basements can remain named scopes within one interior removal plan. Tell us which cabinets, fixtures, floors and ceilings are to go, and which rooms need to stay usable.

For older or unidentified materials, arrange appropriate assessment before disturbance. A visual walk-through does not rule out designated substances or concealed services.

Material assessment before disturbance

Assessment to handover

  1. 01

    Walk-through

We note what stays, what goes and how material will leave the house.

  2. 02

    Surveys and shut-offs

We confirm the designated substance survey and that water, gas and power are isolated where needed.

  3. 03

    Protection

Floors, stairs and rooms that stay in use are covered and sealed off.

  4. 04

    Strip-out

Ceilings, walls, fixtures and floors are removed from the top down.

  5. 05

    Haul-away

Debris is bagged or loaded out continuously rather than piled up.

  6. 06

    Broom-clean handover

The space is swept and left open for the next trades.

Planning questions

Do I need a permit for interior demolition in Mississauga?

Removing finishes like drywall, cabinets and flooring usually does not need a permit on its own. Removing or altering load-bearing walls, plumbing or structure generally does, so the renovation permit often covers the demolition. Check with the City's Building Division for your specific plan.

Does my house need an asbestos check before a gut job?

Have suspect materials assessed by an appropriately qualified professional before disturbance. Building age alone does not establish that materials are safe. Ontario asbestos and designated-substance duties depend on the work and the parties involved; agree the assessment and any specialist work before demolition.

Can we keep living in the house during the demolition?

Often yes, depending on the scope. We seal off the work area, protect the routes we use and keep dust away from occupied rooms. For a full gut of the only bathroom or kitchen, most families plan temporary arrangements.

Do you remove the debris as well?

Yes. Debris removal is part of the job, and we load out as we work so the house does not fill up with piles.
