Scope and fit

Concrete Cutting in Mississauga

Concrete cutting is how we make precise openings and sections in foundation walls, slabs and block without shattering what is left. It suits homeowners, contractors and property managers in Mississauga and across Peel Region who need a clean edge, not a rough hole.

What's included

  • Agreed wall or slab cut lines and openings
  • Protection and dust or cutting-water management
  • Handling and haul-away of sections where included in the written scope

The written scope confirms the exact limits for your property.

Scope boundaries

A cut opening is not a finished installation. Structural design, reinforcement changes, excavation, framing and waterproofing need assigned responsibilities. Scanning and utility isolation are assessed before cutting.

Before we plan the work

Share the opening layout, wall or slab information, any engineering details and access to both sides. Confirm what must remain and how the next trade will use the opening.

A wall opening, a floor trench and a small cut beside retained finishes need different access and handling plans. The intended result sets the cut boundary; the support and installation details come from the responsible designer and receiving trade.

Tell us if the space remains occupied. Water containment, dust control, protection and moving cut sections out of the building are reviewed together.

Choosing between cutting and breaking

Assessment to handover

  1. 01

    Site visit

We look at the wall or slab, the access route and what sits on the other side.

  2. 02

    Layout and paperwork

We mark the cut lines and confirm whether drawings, an engineer or a permit are needed.

  3. 03

    Protection

Floors, finishes and nearby rooms are covered, and water collection is set up.

  4. 04

    Cutting and lifting

The concrete is wet cut into sections and lifted out as blocks.

  5. 05

    Haul-away and clean-up

Blocks and slurry are removed and the opening is left clean for the next trade.

Planning questions

Do I need a permit to cut an opening in a foundation wall in Mississauga?

In most cases, yes. A new or enlarged opening in a foundation wall is a structural change, and the City of Mississauga generally requires a building permit with drawings showing the lintel or header. We can look at the wall first and tell you what the permit application will need.

How do you control dust when cutting concrete inside a house?

We cut wet, which keeps most of the silica dust in the water rather than the air. The slurry is contained and collected, floors are covered, and we seal off the work area from the rest of the home where needed.

Can you cut a basement walkout in a poured foundation?

Yes, a walkout opening is a common cutting job. It usually needs an engineer's design and a permit because the opening removes part of the wall that carries load, so the paperwork comes before the cutting.

Is cutting better than breaking the concrete out?

Cutting gives straight edges, less vibration and cleaner pieces to haul, which matters next to finished rooms or where a door or window will be fitted. Breaking can make sense for rough removals with nothing fragile nearby. We will recommend one after seeing the job.
