Wall Sawing in Mississauga
Wall sawing cuts defined openings in poured concrete and block walls using a saw fixed to a guided track.
CoreCut carries out this work across Mississauga and the western GTA where a clean, controlled edge is needed for the next installation.
Scope and fit
A new doorway, basement window, walkout or mechanical penetration needs more than a rough break in the wall. We check the opening against the supplied layout, review both faces of the wall and plan how the cut sections will be supported and removed. The installer needs edges that can be framed or finished, so the cut line and the removal sequence are agreed before setup.
In a foundation, the wall is part of the structure and may also retain soil. We do not treat a proposed opening as simply a cutting task. The engineer's drawings determine support and opening details, while the City of Mississauga Building Division handles the permit. Water, slurry and the route for moving heavy sections are part of the site plan, especially when the inside face is occupied.
What's included
- Review of opening layout and access on both wall faces
- Track-mounted sawing along the agreed lines
- Protection of adjoining finishes and collection of cutting water
- Controlled separation and loading of cut sections
- Cleanup for the window, door or mechanical installer
Scope boundaries
A cut opening is not a finished installation. Structural design, reinforcement changes, excavation, framing and waterproofing need assigned responsibilities. Scanning and utility isolation are assessed before cutting.
Assessment and sequence
- 01
Inspect the wall
We check its material, thickness as shown on plans, access and nearby finishes.
- 02
Review drawings
Structural details and the intended finished opening are confirmed.
- 03
Set boundaries
The opening is marked and adjacent areas are protected.
- 04
Mount and cut
The saw follows the marked edges while water and slurry are managed.
- 05
Lift sections
Pieces are supported, separated and moved along the agreed route.
- 06
Clear the opening
We remove debris and leave the edge available to the installer.
Before we start
For structural wall cuts, have the engineer's drawings and a City of Mississauga permit ready before the crew starts; the foundation opening permit guide explains the review.
Give us the installer-approved opening layout and access to both faces. Arrange appropriate assessment of materials that may be disturbed and confirm the applicable responsibilities before the work is agreed.

Frequently asked questions
Why use a track-mounted saw for a wall opening?
The guided saw follows a defined line, giving the door, window or mechanical installer an edge they can work from. It also separates the section from the wall that remains, rather than relying on repeated impact to create the opening. We still plan how each cut piece will be supported and removed.
Can you cut both block and poured walls?
Both can be cut, but the way the pieces come free and the way the remaining wall is supported differ. We look at the material during the site walk and follow the engineer's detail where the opening changes a structural wall. The installation layout controls the final lines.
Who supplies the structural design for a new doorway?
The owner or general contractor arranges the engineer's drawings and the applicable City approval. We use those documents to plan the cutting and coordinate with the trades installing support and framing. A demolition crew should not determine the load path by guessing from the exposed face of a wall.
Will the opening be ready for a window installer?
Our scope is the cut and removal, including a clean perimeter and cleared debris. The window installer or framing contractor provides the installation detail and checks the opening against it. Waterproofing, framing and final finishing should be assigned at the site walk so neither trade assumes the other is handling them.
