Before we start
Arrange another safe way in and out of the house while the entrance is being removed. Point out basement windows, vents and any previous repairs concealed by the porch. Ontario One Call locates are needed before exterior breaking or digging.

What if there is an old stair under my porch?
Older steps or fill can be concealed under a later slab. We assess what is visible first and agree on how discoveries will be handled. Once the structure is opened, we review any hidden material with the owner before extending removal beyond the agreed scope. That avoids assuming the porch is one uniform piece.
How do you protect a basement window below the landing?
We identify the window and its well before breaking starts, establish a protected work zone and avoid dropping pieces toward the opening. The removal method depends on the clearance and the weight of each section. We also plan where debris will be staged so the window remains accessible and protected.
Can we keep using our front door during the work?
Not while the steps or landing that serve it are being removed. The household needs another safe entrance for the work period and until a replacement provides usable access. We discuss this during the site walk, including deliveries, occupants who need assistance and how the work zone will be isolated.
Will removing the steps damage the foundation?
The connection to the home is assessed before demolition, and we separate the concrete in controlled sections rather than pulling against the foundation. Existing cracks or hidden construction can change what is possible. We flag any exposed issue as it appears and do not treat foundation repair as included unless it is in the scope.
