Inground Pool Removal in Mississauga

Inground pool removal clears an unused concrete or vinyl-liner pool and prepares the yard for its next use.

CoreCut handles the demolition and site clearing across Mississauga and the western GTA after the owner has agreed on the removal plan.

Scope and fit

The first decision is whether the pool will be fully removed or the shell will be broken and filled. That choice is made with the owner and the City's requirements, and it affects excavation, drainage, fill and the final use of the space. We review access for equipment and hauling, nearby buildings, landscaping and any surfaces that must remain.

A pool also has services that demolition crews do not disconnect themselves. The gas heater is capped by a licensed gas technician and the electrical supply is isolated by the electrician before our crew starts. Draining is planned as the City and Region require. Once the site is ready, we remove the liner and scoped structure, handle the shell according to the approved approach, load debris and place and compact fill as specified. We discuss the intended finished grade before the first piece comes out.

What's included

  • Site review and full-removal or break-and-fill scope
  • Coordination after utility isolation and approved draining
  • Removal of liner and scoped pool components
  • Breaking, loading and hauling of shell material as agreed
  • Placement and compaction of fill to the agreed plan
  • Site cleanup and grade handoff

Scope boundaries

A cleared lot is not a new building site approval. Disconnects, hazardous-material work, engineering and final grading requirements must be assigned before demolition.

Assessment and sequence

  1. 01

    Walk the yard

We review pool type, machine access and surrounding features.

  2. 02

    Set the approach

The owner confirms full removal or shell treatment against City direction.

  3. 03

    Confirm readiness

Draining, utility isolation and underground locates are completed.

  4. 04

    Protect the site

Access routes, neighbouring finishes and planting are marked.

  5. 05

    Remove and fill

Scoped material is taken out and specified fill is compacted.

  6. 06

    Finish the site

Debris is hauled and the agreed grade is reviewed.

Before we start

The City of Mississauga Building Division confirms whether a permit applies to the chosen removal approach. Arrange Ontario One Call locates before excavation or breaking, draining as the City and Region require, gas-heater capping by a licensed gas technician and electrical isolation by an electrician before the crew starts.

The owner identifies designated substances under OHSA section 30 before disturbing older materials and tendering or arranging the work; see our survey guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is full removal different from breaking and filling the shell?

Yes. Full removal takes out the scoped pool structure, while a break-and-fill approach leaves treated shell material below the new fill where the approved plan allows it. The owner's intended use of the yard and City direction affect the decision. We do not choose a cheaper-looking method without confirming the final plan.

Who disconnects the pool heater and electrical equipment?

A licensed gas technician caps the gas connection, and an electrician isolates the electrical supply before demolition begins. We confirm those handoffs at the site walk rather than asking demolition workers to disconnect live services. The owner also arranges draining according to City and Region requirements before removal work starts.

How is the filled area prepared for future use?

The agreed removal plan specifies what comes out and how the remaining excavation is filled and compacted. Intended future use matters because a lawn and a later structure may call for different design and approvals. We review the finished grade and compaction scope with the owner before quoting the demolition work.

Can you work around a patio or fence we want to keep?

We identify those features during the walk-through and plan equipment access, protection and loading around them. Some access limitations change the removal method or require smaller pieces to be carried out. We mark what stays before work begins and discuss any feature that blocks safe access rather than assuming it can be removed.
